Our Visitors' Book
Here is what some of our guests have said about their stay in Corner House.
We do hope that when you return home you will add your comments, too.

We visit this particular Dale a lot and this is the second time we have stayed here at Corner House. So comfortable, warm and welcoming.
It's the little things that reallyt make it a home for the week - attention to detail.
Recommend food at the Black Bull in Reeth - also great coffee at the Dales Bike Centre.
Enjoy your visit. We did!

  • Another excellent week at Corner House. Definitely beginning to feel like second home after our 4th stay.
Met up with friends. Had only short walks with our increasingly physically challenged dog Brogan.
Many thanks for the goodies awaiting our arrival.
No doubt we will be back again next year.

  • Thank you for our lovely 2-week stay at Corner House.
Know the area well but discovered lots of new walks. Even had a dip in the river with the children!!
Cottage cosy and the kitchen is so well equipped
Thank you for the wine, biscuits and milk.
The pub next door does a fantastic meat pie and has a good games room with lots of games to play.
Cannot fault the cottage at all, but if there were any suggestions: a couple of small blankets would have been great in the living room and a pack of cards to play with.
    Thanks again.

  • We love the Dales and have spent a couple of holidays here. But we were at Corner House for the first time. We had a lovely stay in this cosy place and did a lot of fine walks, especially as we had splendid, sunny weather without a drop of rain for the first two weeks of our stay. The third week was OK as well.
As to tips for meals and excursions, see the entries before.
    Thanks to Paula and Nigel.

  • Corner House is a warm, welcoming spot to base my cousin and myself to allow us to explore a small bit of the lovely Yorkshire Dales.
Many thanks for the welcome basket, a lovely surprise. The house has everything need to make our stay great.
We enjoyed visits to Richmond, Barnard Castle, Bowes Museum - an amazing place to visit. We also went to Mount Grace Priory, Fountains Abbey, Studley Royal Gardens, Aysgarth Falls, Wensleydale Cheese and Ripon Cathedral.
We enjoyed our stay in Grinton and Corner House very much. Lovely to have a nice spot to come "home" to after a day exploring the beautiful countryside.
Had a nice meal at the pub and bought some books in the village!

  • Our 3rd visit and for some reason the 1st time writing in the book!
Once again Corner House has delivered. Opportunity to catch up with friends and family.
A lovely visit to the arboretum at Thorp Perrow near Bedale. Malham Cove as well although quite a drive. Don't leave it too late in the day.
Plenty of walks up on the moor.
Excellent meal at the Golden Lion in Leyburn, as well of course the Bridge Inn over the road.
A nice sound listening to the local bell ringers tonight (Friday).
Hope to return again at some point.

  • Our first year in Corner House but not in the Dales. The cottage was so nice and clean and has everything needed for a good comfortable stay. So many nice touches: wine, tea, coffee and biscuits were a lovely surprise. Thank you.
We love traveling around the sights as we are not long walkers, but this cottage is so central for everything. The river walk from the house to Reeth is lovely. The drive to the highest pub, at Tan Hill, is beautiful, especially seeing barn owls.
The drive to Burnsall, then the walk to Grassington for Linton Falls is also beautiful (can recommend the Buck Inn on the way). So many falls that are accessible: Aysgarth, Cotter Force, Crackpot and many more. Gunnerside has a lovely river walk. The trip to the Buttertubs is a lovely drive. Also, Raby Castle and the deer park is a good walk around the grounds and a lovely place to visit. So much to see an do!
The Punchbowl Inn is Low Row is a great place to eat.
A great stay in Corner House and we would love to come back.

  • This was our second new year at Corner Cottage and once again it did not disappoint. Beautiful house, short of nothing and we all had a great stay. Weather was kind, and we did some lovely walking. Visited the pub opposite and the staff were great having taken over a month ago. Please support them if you can as the hospitality business really is on its knees and when its gone there will be no coming back.Bottle of wine and milk was very much appreciated.

  • This was our second visit to corner house and Grinton, we once again enjoyed our stay, the cottage was clean and the welcoming gifts were really a lovely thought. The area is beautiful and Reeth is a great village to visit especially the sculptor who makes fantastic hanging bats, I have four now. I would recommend the cottage and the Yorkshire Dales to anyone who wants great walks, fantastic scenery and friendly people.

  • Our second stay at Corner House.
The house is perfectly placed for numerous walks around swaledale, touring around the north yorks dales and the pub across the road.
A lovely cottage in perfect surroundings.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds were the most comfortable beds we have ever experienced on any holiday. Cottage is lovely, facilities are good, everything you need. Surrounding area is beautiful. Would recommend a stay.

  • Delightful week's stay in this well-equipped house which is perfectly situated in Grinton. House was fully equipped and the location provided an excellent base for exploring both the immediate local area on foot as well as visiting surrounding attractions. Highly recommend and look forward to a future return visit. Thank you Nigel and Paula for your hospitality!

  • Corner House is all that is advertised and more. A comfortable and spacious house in a beautiful area. The owners were warm and welcoming and replied immediately to any questions. We look forward to coming back.

  • Corner house was a home from home during these uncertain times. The area was beautiful and the people very friendly. Although there was still some work taking place it was not intrusive and the workmen were very friendly. The house was clean and felt safe during this period. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and are definitely considering returning next year to Yorkshire and Corner House.

  • The location of the cottage is fantastic, with the church opposite and the ‘Pub’ across the road. A lovely home for our family to stay with everything you need. A truly great place for walking, which the family (and dog) enjoyed immensely. We have been coming to Swaledale (Reeth and Grinton) for 30 years, and this has been one of the best.

    — The Foster Family, 22 Mar 2019
  • We were very comfortable in your lovely, warm, well equipped cottage which was ideally placed for walking, cycling and running. The North Yorkshire Dales are very beautiful and this was my first time visiting the area. Lots of lovely tea rooms and craft places, did some very early Xmas shopping! Both my husband and I appreciated how clean the cottage was and also the lovely bottle of wine left for us on our arrival, a very nice touch. Thank you for sharing your home.

  • We had a wonderful week in your cosy and well-equipped cottage. We loved your attention to detail, the ‘welcoming touches’ (the biscuits, the milk, the bottle of wine). The location of your house opposite the church is absolutely remarkable. The weather was great and we had many fantastic walks. It’s a lovely place to stay. Thank you.

  • Our 3rd visit to Corner House. This time, accompanied by daughter, son-in-law and Reggie, their little dog. The all loved the Dales and Grinton. Loved Corner House, as we do. Did lots of travelling round the area, and we took great delight in showing them around. We were blessd with wonderful weather, unbroken sunshine every day! In fact, it was often a bit too hot. Only thing missing was the water, rivers, streams and falls all so low! (never seen that before).
Thank you once again Nigel and Paula for the loan of your lovely cottage. Hope there will be a 4th time..

    — The Gould Family, 10 Jul 2018
  • We last visited 3 years ago. Corner House is just as we remembered. Lovely, comfortable cottage, clean and well-equipped. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed some lovely walks. Once again, good meals in the Bridge Inn, love the Tan Hill pub also, but not the drive!

    — The Johnsons (and Ben the Sprocker), 05 Jul 2018
  • We have had a lovely stay at Corner House this week, with everything in the house we needed for a comfortable stay. The bottle of wine was lovely; thank you. Also, thanks to Kris for her very warm welcome.
The weather has been fabulous so we've enjoyed some fantastic circular walks from Grinton and Reeth. Our Lab, Sparki, has had lots of fun exploring new fields and woodland. We ate at the Bridge Inn a few times and also at the Kings Arms in Reeth - both lovely food. We spent a lovely few hours at Reeth Show on Bank Holiday Monday.

  • We have had a really wonderful stay in this very comfortable home. This picture-perfect place has brought joy to our hearts and peace to our minds. Every place we have visited in the Yorkshire Dales has been so beautiful and the people kind, helpful and friendly. Would recommend the Buck Inn in Reeth: good quality food and excellent beers. Well worth visiting all the local villages within the area as you pass through - a stop off to look around is a pleasant experience. Will definitely be visiting the Dales again !!
Thank you for a great holiday.
